Our Philosophy

For decades our winery has been highly regarded for our premium wines of which we currently produce 250,000 to 300,000 bottles annually.

Our primary focus is on Rieslings which comprise over 80% of our 38 ha (94 acres) under vine, but also on Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Muscatel. We also produce a Pinot Noir and a Red Cuvée. Since 2008, Sauvignon Blanc has also played a role in our assortment, as the varietal finds perfect conditions on the light sandy and gravelly soils of our region if treated with care.

The enormous potential of our vineyards’ which include more than 10 ha (24 acres) of “Großes Gewächs” (Grand Cru) classified sites is underlined by work that is sustainable, close to nature and quality-oriented enabling us to harvest perfect grapes full of aroma and valuable substances. A young and highly motivated team’s continuous strive for quality assurance and the investment power behind owner Achim Niederberger ensures that the winery von Winning will remain established at the forefront of producers of highest-quality German wines.

The estate’s premium wines are treated with a minimalist approach and with the highest respect in the cellar. Gentle clarification, a natural and spontaneous fermentation and the abandonment of fining agents create wines with a distinctive indigenous and very elegant style that distinguishes us from the masses.

Our goal is to create wines that awake emotions and reflect the varietal, terroir, the region Palatinate (Pfalz) and the winery von Winning unmistakeably. Our wines are extremely exciting - from the very first glass they enchant and captivate.
