Sites and Soils
This vineyard is surrounded by a five-foot sandstone wall which saves the warmth of the sun during the day and releases it during the night. In no other vineyard site will you find as many small basalt chips set in a red-brown top soil on top of the substrate of Tertiary chalk. The vineyard was given the top ranking of the vineyard classification of 1828.
A luscious flavour with pronounced fruits set in a compact background which simply radiates excitement and generates a mood for more. It is often compared with the nave of a church, impressive, intense and yet easy to understand
