Sites and Soils

The Ungeheur vineyard site is a world-famous site with an extremely complex soil structure. Set on an ancient coral reef it is characterised by chalky, red sandstone and volcanic basalt soils.


Spontaneous fermentation of more than two-thirds in 500 litre wooden barrels. The aroma is one of ripe citrus fruits combined with extensive, tangy overtones: a revelation with every glass ! The flavour and feel is one of fruity, spicy accents with a succulent acidity and fascinating structure leading to a lingering aftertaste.

Ideal serving temperature: 10-14 °C Best decanted !
